First Look at Lex Luthor in Man of Tomorrow
James Gunn has posted a first look at Nicholas Hoult, as Lex Luthor, suited up in his iconic green and purple Warsuit. The official, behind-the-scenes picture was shared across social media platforms with the message “fit check” in his post.
Man of Tomorrow will see Superman (David Corenswet) and his nemesis Luthor in the uncomfortable position of working together against a much bigger threat to Earth. Although previous set leak pictures debuted the new look back in June of this year, you can see Hoult wearing the suit below.
The iconic suit made its official debut in Action Comics #544, in 1983 and it’s awesome to see that it’s finally coming to the big screen!
Gunn has told fans that the premise for Man of Tomorrow, “is a story about Lex Luthor and Superman having to work together, to a certain degree, against a much, much bigger threat, and it’s more complicated than that. It’s as much a Lex movie as it is a Superman movie.”
What is this bigger threat I hear you ask? Well actor Lars Eidinger has been officially cast as Brainiac. A super intelligent alien in the DCU who seeks and hoards all universal knowledge for himself while leaving a trail of destruction. Those familiar with the Super-Villain will know that he is one of Superman’s most dangerous enemies and the one responsible for shrinking the Kryptonian capital, Kandor for his personal collection.
Man of Tomorrow will continue the new DC Universe when it hits cinemas 9th July, 2027 (current release date). In addition to Hoult, Corenswet, and Eidinger, its cast includes Aaron Pierre, as the Green Lantern John Stewart, and Milly Alcock as Supergirl. While Adria Arjona, Matthew Lillard and Andre Royo have also joined the cast in mystery roles.
