Trailer Dump: Dark Phoenix, Robin Hood & Creed II

We have a load of great new trailers to dump on you today, from the new X-Men movie to Netflix’s disturbing Apostle. So if you’ve been waiting to catch up on the latest trailers, have no fear. For we are here. Geekvault’s trailer dump. So just sit back, relax and enjoy. There’s a lot here to enjoy, so get stuck in. Tell us in the comments which one was your favourite.

Robin Hood

This has been my favourite trailer for the new Robin Hood film yet. The aesthetic is really enjoyable, with that modern medieval twist, like A Knight’s Tale or King Arthur. Let’s hope it’s more like the former than the latter, which became probably the worst Guy Ritchie film. Unfortunately the best I can say about this film at the moment is about  the aesthetic, and that it looks like a bit of fun. Oh well, will you be watching this?

Dark Phoenix

The first trailer for the new X-Men movie, Dark Phoenix has surfaced and it looks pretty good. Jean Grey is struggling to contain the power of the titular Dark Phoenix power and the team must help save her from doing something she regrets. McAvoy and Fassbender are back as Xavier and Magneto for possibly the last time. Though we wished they had greyed up Magnetos hair a bit. We’ve enjoyed most if not all X-Men films thus far, hopefully this will make up for Last Stand.

Galveston

This looks like it may be a surprise hit, with powerful performances that are already conveyed through this short trailer. Ben Foster is set up and Elle Fanning is caught right in the middle of it, forcing them to both go on the run with twists and turns in the middle. This is one we will definitely be checking out.

Creed II

Michael B. Jordan returns as Adonis Creed, with Sylvetser Stallone in tow returning as Rocky. For a continuation in what has become a truly iconic franchise. This time it’s about more than just honour, it’s revenge. As Creed fights to finally overcome the death of his father. Dolph Lundgren returns as Ivan Drago with his son Victor, played by Florian Munteanu, who looks absolutely beastly. We can’t wait to watch this one.

Daredevil Season Three

This small teaser trailer for the return of Daredevil in season three has Wilson Fisk, Kingpin appear in his iconic white suit. Though no purple cravats just yet. Fans of the new Spider-Man PS4 game may even think it’s reminiscent of Mr. Negative. We also see the symbolic death of Matt Murdock, as he struggles to deal with a dual identity and is overcome by the Daredevil. Let’s hope this is as good as if not even better than season 2.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

With each trailer we get more and more excited for the Fantastic Beasts sequel. The first was a surprisingly great addition to the Harry Potter lore and this next one looks even better. Beware of spoilers in this trailer though as we finally learn the identity of the girl who has been running around with Ezra Miller’s Credence. Can’t wait to see Jude Law as a young Dumbledore too. We’re already booking tickets. Don’t forget to buy your wizarding supplies here.

Bumblebee

When they announced that there would be a new Transformers spinoff about the origins of Bumblebee, everyone asked who wants this? But it maybe actually looks, kind of, good? At least the best in a while, which wouldn’t certainly be hard to achieve. This in part stems from the fact that these Transformers actually look like transformers, with their blocky colourful bodies. Let’s just hope you’ll be able to see what’s happening in the fight scenes too.

Captain Marvel

The first trailer for Captain Marvel was released and it looks epic. With the success of this film combined with Wonder Woman’s we will hopefully have an influx of new super-heroine films. This looks like it will be an above average Marvel movie. Do you think this is the start of a secret invasion? Has Nick Fury been a Skrull all along? Will Captain Marvel be a Skrull? Either way who doesn’t want to see an old lady get punched? You can even get your own Marvel gear here.

Apostle

This is one nightmarish looking movie, and we appreciate Netflix for the broad scope they’re employing. From Gareth Evans who brought the world two excellent movies of The Raid, comes something far different. It looks like the Wicker Man jacked up on heroin, meets the demon spawn of Saw and Silent Hill. We can’t wait to see how twisted this turns out.

Trailer Dump: Godzilla, Superheroes & Comic-Con

Trailer Dump: Godzilla, Superheroes & Comic-Con

In case you’ve been living under a rock we’ve got a whole treat-load of trailers for you. From Comic-Con we have M. Night Shyamalan’s probably most anticipated movie of his career, the sequel to Unbreakable. The new Fantastic Beasts trailer. The full trailer for the epic new Godzilla! DC’s new line up of movies and TV Shows. The new series from the creator of The Simpsons and Futurama. As well as the excellent new Image Comics TV Series from Marvels the Russo Brother’s, directors of Infinity War and Civil War.

Glass

This sequel was eighteen years in the making. Starring the returns of Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson from Unbreakable, including James McAvoy and Anya Taylor-Joy from the surprise sequel Split. Clearly there is a lot to unpack here with this realistic take on the superhero genre, as no one believes them. This may be M. Night Shyamalans’ most anticipated movie of all time.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

If you’re a Harry Potter fan, this may be what you’re most excited for! Eddie Redmayne returns as Newt Scamander, with friends in tow for this magical mystery movie, with all new and fantastic beasts. The brilliant casting of Jude Law as a young Dumbledore means this is one to keep your eye on and save a date in the calendar for. Treat yourself to a little magical joy here!

Godzilla: King of the Monsters

This looks EPIC! If you don’t like giant monster movies, then you don’t have much business seeing this movie but… if you love them then this is what you’ve been waiting for! Destruction on a scale like we’ve never seen before! Godzilla! Mothra! Rodan! King Ghidorah! The beasts have been awoken to fight the virus that is humanity. The first Godzilla may have been a little disappointing but Kong was fun (they share the same universe) and this looks the best yet.

SHAZAM!

What if a child could be Superman? Is the basic premise for the DC hero Shazam (or Captain Marvel depending). Now we have a first look at this brand new DC movie. Billy Batson is given the powers of SHAZAM by a great old wizard. This certainly looks different to anything we’ve seen before from DC and even really a big superhero movie. We aren’t too sure what to think yet, but it looks like fun for the family. What do you think?

Aquaman

A man trapped between land and sea. We finally have our first trailer for Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa! A lot of people have been eagerly awaiting this. Now it’s here what are your thoughts? Aquaman was possibly the best part of Justice League but that’s not saying much and unfortunately at this time it doesn’t look much better.  We were hoping for something more similar to Wonder Woman and Man of Steel. We can only wait and see now. Black Manta does look cool though. Now you can own your very own Aquaman here!

Supergirl Season 4

Supergirl returns in this all new trailer for season 4. The woman of steel has had a strong run of series so far and hopefully they can keep it going and avoid any kryptonite. Have you been keeping up to date with this super series? Are you looking forward to what comes next?

Arrow Season 7

Arrow has gone through a lot of tough times recently, not managing to give the fans what they want. Are you still watching? Either way, something must be working right for them as they are making their seventh season and if nothing else you have to appreciate and be thankful for the universe they helped create. If you are a fan that is.

The Flash Season 5

The Flash is back and just in time. Arguably the best of DC’s TV shows, last season left us with a lot of questions even after Barry and team Flash beat the Thinker. Mostly about the new member of the team who showed up throughout the last season before revealing herself to the team. We will finally be able to see get his Flash ring too! ARe you excited for this new season? Pick up your own Flash here, quick before they’re gone in a hurry.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 4

The Legends of Tomorrow today! It seems the legends haven’t caught the eye of many in the general public, but it is a great bit of fun to watch and they have their own core group of followers. Now they have returned for a fourth season to meddle with time once more. Find more legendary DC products here!

Disenchantment

The new series from Matt Groening, creator of the Simpsons and Futurama, Disenchantment! His very distinctive style is now a part of the fantasy genre, where misadventure awaits! Coming straight to Netflix so you can binge watch at your leisure. Groening hasn’t released anything new since Futurama first released in 1999, will this be another hit?

Deadly Class

This great new looking series comes from SyFy, who have been on a roll recently after once being considered a joke for their original content. Deadly Class, adapted from the hit comic book series, about a secret underground school of deadly assassins. The comic is well worth checking out and this looks to be following suit. Will you be checking it out?

Anyway, we hope you enjoyed these trailers, tell us, which one was your favourite? What are you looking forward to most?
